Have to remember, this is Glasgow, not some idyllic village in the Highlands. That definitely rules out Murano/ Maryhill for me then. I have yet to visit a city without being warned about them in some form or other; whether it's pick pockets in Rome, muggers in New York or drunks in Glasgow. Students should be notified of incidents near their residences but a bit of common sense will also help (staying on well-lit roads, walking in a group, keeping money back for emergencies on a night out). Most of the advice I've received seems fairly standard and helpful, but it is also up to us, as adults, to take the initiative and make inquiries about the area in which we live.
