With a match day attendance of 5,461, Partick Thistle faced top of the table clash with current leaders St Johnstone. Lee Ashcroft captained the Saturday team with Aidan Fitzpatrick from the Academy on the starting line-up at The Wyre Stadium.
Kicking off the match, an initial corner was awarded in the third minute to St Johnstone after a chance from Sidibeh but resulted in a counter attack from the home side and a chance for Thistle after a strong cross from Fitzpatrick just a few minutes later.
Goal from Daniel O’reilly in the 6th minute after yet another cross from the Academy player Fitzpatrick, setting the pace for the current league leaders.

Chances created for the home side as the second half began, with the Jags Alex Samuel driving through the box, although just couldn’t find the angle to finish.
A 25-yard strike from Watt landed in the hands of the keeper, although Thistle managed to find their way for a corner, once again saved by the away side’s Toby Steward.
Challenge on Lets’osa meant the home team was awarded a free kick taken by Chalmers.
