Are you a magpie for all things vintage? Or just looking for somewhere a little different to finish off (or start!) your Christmas shopping? Look no further than Adventures in Vintage’s Christmas Market this Sunday 20th December in Glasgow’s Trades Hall. Adventures in Vintage is a new and innovative company, hosting events in unique venues across Scotland, showcasing the best artisan makers, crafters and vintage sellers. The event will combine all your favourite elements of a traditional Christmas Market, including carol singers, and maybe even a visit from the man in red himself, with the fabulousness of vintage, complete with a vintage tea-room.

Part of Adventures in Vintage’s appeal is that they don’t limit themselves to vintage sellers, but rather seek to incorporate a wider range of market traders with a vintage influence on their wares. This market will incorporate everything from the gorgeous homewares of Urban Rebel Design, to quirky accessories from Doris Does Doodles, vintage eyewear from the Eyedresser, and upcycled pieces from The Glasgow Furniture Collective and Upcycle Scotland. Tania Eadie, co-founder of Adventures in Vintage, says that the name comes from her and business partner Carolyn Johnston’s shared love of vintage, and their view of “finding a really special object, especially something specific you were looking for, as a bit of an adventure.”

As well as seeking out the best makers, crafters and vintage sellers Scotland has to offer, Tania also revealed that “part of what we are doing is exploring in order to find unusual and interesting venues. The Trades Hall is one such venue – it has tons of charm, is soaked in Glasgow history, and, we’ve been told, has its very own ghost!”

Adventures in Vintage is creating a new kind of market experience, providing not only an event for customers, but also support for traders, whilst making the most of unique venues. This company represents a movement away from fast fashion and mass produced homeware, and is tailored towards consumers who appreciate products made and curated by people who are passionate about what they do.

So, get yourself down to the Trades Hall this Sunday, soak up the combined magic of vintage and Christmas, find something so unique even that person on your Christmas list who has everything can’t fail to be impressed, then buy yourself something equally fabulous as a reward. With your Christmas present mission complete, settle into the vintage tearoom, and wait with baited breath for Santa (or the Trades Hall ghost) to make his appearance.

Adventures in Vintage Christmas Market will be held on Sunday 20th December from 11am-5pm, in the Trades Hall, Glassford Street, Glasgow, G1 1UH. Admission: £2
