Glasgow Guardian Newspapers

Contribute

The Glasgow Guardian is one of the oldest student publications to exist and the largest at the University of Glasgow.

We accept article proposals from any registered student. No experience necessary! We are also happy to receive anonymous articles and tips, and support new writers or those with less experience in English. Our aim is to provide a voice for all students on campus.

How to get in touch?

It’s easiest to come to our weekly contributors meetings. More details can be found on Instagram.
Alternatively, you can join our Facebook Contributors Group. Here, section editors publish article proposals, which you can “take” – declaring that you want to write the article. The editors will then get in touch with you. You can also contact them with your own ideas.

I don’t have any writing experience. Is this a problem?

Not at all! We are happy to help you develop your skills. All of us started out as a fresher at some point. The best way to learn is writing by yourself.

I want to get involved without writing. Is this possible?

Of course. A newspaper is much more than the writing team. There are people for Social Media, the website, finances and more. If you are interested in these roles, please get in touch at [email protected]
