On the 17th of February the SRC will host their annual Volunteering, Clubs and Societies awards, an evening dedicated to showcasing the various activities carried out by volunteers, clubs and societies around campus. With over 200 clubs and societies affiliated with the SRC, this evening is a great celebration of those deserving recognition as well as their innovative, devoted and enthusiastic members. The awards to be presented this evening range from the Most Dedicated Member to the Fundraising Award.

This year, two awards were opened for anyone participating in meaningful activities on campus, whether they are associated with the SRC or not. These are the Glasgow World Changer – Community Engagement Award as well as the Exceptional Campaign Award

Nominations were held the 11th of January – 29th of January, and were open to the public. The New Club/Society Award received over 100 nominations, making it the most popular category. On Friday, the VCS committee, which includes the Vice President of Student Activities Mhairi Harris and the Charities, Clubs and Societies Officer Pritasha Kariappa will reveal the winners.

The award banquet includes a buffet and drink reception, as well as speeches and presentations in the Kelvin Gallery. Although the evening is not a public event, the winners will be made known shortly after the ceremony. This evening is designed to commemorate and appreciate student engagement outside academics.
