The Times Higher Education survey, published on 17 March, recently ranked 122 institutions for their student experiences, as reflected by student surveys. The University of Glasgow placed at 34th, garnering a score of 78.7 out of 100.

The position was calculated with reference to 15,000 student responses to surveys, based on a seven point rating system ranging from “strongly agree” to “strongly disagree”.

Universities are given points according to 21 attributes including seven composite attributes including: academic experience, university facilities, societal experience, student welfare, accommodation, industry connections, and security.

Harper Adams University topped the poll in only its second year of eligibility. Last year’s winner, Loughborough University, followed in second place.

The University of Sheffield, the University of Leeds and the University of Surrey rounded off the top five universities in the UK.
