The new SRC Sabbatical Officers were elected last night, 5 of March.

On Thursday 5 March, the results of the SRC Student Council Elections were announced with Molly Corbett being elected as the new SRC President with 907 votes.

Making up the rest of the sabbatical team are: Ben Jones as Vice President (VP) of Education, Hannah Watters as VP of Student Support and Natasha Pooley  as VP of Student Activities. The four campaigned together, hoping to achieve this result with Corbett stating she was “so glad [that] I’ve got people I really trust and that I know have similar ideas”. All four sabbatical officers are looking forward to starting their roles and set about implementing their policies with plans already underway for next year’s Welcome Week.
Other results of the night saw Ciara McCarthy secure the role of SRC Disability Equality Officer, Aaron Purba the role of SRC Home Students Officer, and Ebrahim Rezaei besting Sanad Alamad for the role of SRC Race Equality Officer.
