Hares & Hounds chase glory

Two members of the Glasgow University Hares and Hounds club recently raced in the McCain Liverpool Cross Country Challenge.

The eventm which took place in Sefton Park, also incorporated the European Cross Country trials.

Glasgow University Students Elspeth Curran who qualified in 3rd place and Derek Hawkins in 4th, both raced in the Under 23 section

They were both representing their local team Kilbarchan AC, however the result has been praised by the University running club for their outstanding achievements.

In doing so the pair has been successful in qualifying to represent Great Britain at the SPAR European Cross Country Championships in Albufeira, Portugal on Sunday 12 December.

The call up to the GB U23 teams has been a well desreved reward for their superb performances in the trial races.

The GUHH have commended the pair and a club spokesperson said “this is a huge achievement for them and everyone at the club wishes them luck in The European Cross Country in Portugal”.
