Successful Women at Glasgow (SWAG) are holding their first gig fundraising event at Nice N Sleazy on Wednesday 24 November.

The society’s new initiative “SWAG PRESENTS…” seeks to give space to young female talent. The event will showcase four bands of different genres and the proceeds will go to Glasgow and Clyde Rape Crisis, a support service for women and girls aged 13 and over who have been affected by sexual violence.

The bands performing include indie rock band The Wife Guys of Reddit, punk trio Brat Coven, and singer-songwriters Amelia Hilton and Caitlin Andrew. Concert safety project Gigsafe will also be present to provide support.

Chloe Waterhouse, the event organiser, highlighted the importance of safety measures in live concert venues. She commented: “We hope that our gig fundraiser is a success so we can continue putting on shows and exceed our fundraising goals this year.”

“SWAG PRESENTS …” takes place at Nice N Sleazy on Wednesday 24 November. Tickets cost £5 and can be bought online or at the door.

SWAG was founded in 2015. It aims to host events showcasing successful women in order to inspire and empower university students.
